Universal Small-Frame Fit: Engineered specifically for small-frame carry revolvers up to a 2.125-inch barrel length, including Smith & Wesson J-Frames (Models 642, 442, 640, 60, 340PD), Ruger LCR/LCRx series, and standard legacy Taurus Small Frame revolvers (Model 85/856 non-optics variants).

Hand Orientation: 100% Ambidextrous. Symmetrical Kydex shell allows mounting hardware to be attached to either side for flawless right or left-handed carry.

Laser Grip Support: Relieved pocket profile clears grip-based laser aiming modules (compatible with Crimson Trace Lasergrips; note: Viridian laser grips are not supported).

Grip Clearance Warnings: Fully compatible with stock factory grips and Crimson Trace options. Note that bulky aftermarket Hogue rubber grips are compatible with the Ruger LCR variant but are NOT supported on S&W J-Frame models due to holster clearance tolerances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this holster fit my optics-ready Taurus T.O.R.O. revolver? No. This specific variant is the standard small-frame profile designed for classic iron-sight revolvers (S&W J-Frame, Ruger LCR, standard Taurus 856). It does not feature the raised optic clearance hood found on the dedicated T.O.R.O. model.

Can I wear this holster without a traditional gun belt? Out of the box, it includes a 1.5" Griphook clip designed to anchor securely onto standard carry belts. However, if you want completely beltless carry (such as in gym shorts or sweatpants), you can remove the clip hardware and bolt the holster shell directly onto a PHLster Enigma OS Standard chassis.

How does the reload feature work? PHLster pioneered the "Reload Cut" on the City Special. If you need to perform a reload under stress, you can safely slide the frame of the gun backward into the holster with the cylinder flipped wide open. The holster acts as a "third hand," holding the revolver rock-steady so you can execute your reload without fumbling.
