VZ Grips G10 Operator II Hyena Brown SM Frame

(My size, for context: Male, 5'11" with hands that fit "Large" size gloves slightly snugly, but comfortably. The rubber Taurus small frame revolver grips fit my hand perfectly.) Got these grips for an 856 Executive Grade that I was hoping I could give both a slightly more compact grip for carry and a bit of a personal touch to. The fit was fine and while the color wouldn't have been my first choice, I'd say it was real good in person. The machined pattern in the grips is sharpish and aggressive to the skin. Gives you great purchase but is a little much for a day at the range. G10 also have no give to it; if you fire hot loads in a small frame revolver with these on, your hands are taking every bit of that. I think those are reasonable compromises to make if you are looking for grips that let you take a firm grasp but also don't catch on clothing like rubber may. One thing that caught me off guard a bit was that it filled my hands more than expected. The scales have a roundness to them that photos don't convey. Contrast that with the stock Taurus rubber grips that are flatter and narrow. I didn't feel it compromised my trigger finger's comfort on trigger pulls but the rest of the hand just couldn't lock in the same way it can with the rubber grips. Also the thumb on the shooting hand couldn't tuck in as much; the only time my thumb's ever hit the cylinder release button under recoil on a Taurus was with these grips on it. I think someone with larger hands might get a lot out of these, though! Also, I've heard you can get some sandpaper and take a bit of the bite out of the texture of the grip if you want to. Great product. Fit perfectly, provides an effective grip even on .357 magnum. Also does not snag on shirt or even sweater. Did not come with a pin.

Love the grips, great aggressive texture. 4/5 stars due to having to grind my roll pin down to get them to fit correctly, as well as there being a small gap between the grips and frame under the trigger guard and on the top of the back strap (I mean small, maybe less than 1mm but it’s enough to catch a fingernail in).

Bought these grips for my little Taurus 38 special and they are amazing. Look and fit excellent and make shooting a much better experience. If you're looking to upgrade your Taurus revolver add these grips am the feint night sight. You won't be disappointed.
