Although designed to help with wider high cap magazines, there is also a groove inside the mag well, front and rear, to align a 1911 style magazine. Good loader
Overall, it's a decent loader for the price but i ended up getting a Maglula Uplula loader and that is just superior. I do keep the Taurus loader in my range bag for a "just in case" scenario.

Does the job
I bought it to help load some high cap magazines and it does the trick. its the first one i have ever used. once i got the hang of it, the same as using any new tool, it worked great. seems durable and will last
